Falling Sentiment Reason for Caution

In my previous column, I wrote about the freshness of some of the new administration’s initiatives and what impact the actions of the White House may have on our nation’s infrastructure spending, especially the unused portions of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act created during the pandemic of the early 2020s. For now, at least, it appears there won’t be any significant cuts, or even reshuffling, of previously budgeted initiatives and projects.

But there is one flashing yellow caution light in front of us that has me worried: the plunge in consumer confidence.

How does this affect our industry?
