Concrete Canoe Scholarship Application
Reminders
Purpose
NPCA is focused on expanding the awareness and knowledge of the precast industry, specifically engaging with and developing students to work in the precast industry or
with precast concrete products.
Eligibility
Any ASCE concrete canoe participant from an accredited school entering the ASCE Concrete Canoe Regional or National Competitions is eligible to apply for the NPCA Concrete Canoe Scholarship. The funds can be used for any expenses related to the concrete canoe construction and competition related travel.
Entry Deadline & Winner Notification
Teams must submit their completed application by Oct. 31, 2024, and scholarship winners will be announced by Nov. 30, 2024.
New Awards
All applicants will receive access to the NPCA online community specifically for Concrete Canoe where team members can engage in Q&A with staff engineers, request technical assistance and resource materials from the library, and build networks with other students as well as NPCA members. Students will also be able to request assistance with local members who can provide resources or materials needed. At the conclusion of the Concrete Canoe competition, NPCA engineers will host an after-action to review any challenges or setbacks experienced during the process.
Eight teams will be awarded $1,000 scholarship. The application must include a summary that is less than 1,000 words specifically addressing what the funds are needed
for (percentage towards construction & percentage towards travel), the challenges the team faces (mix design or construction), lessons learned from last year’s competition and how NPCA can be helpful toward your success.
