GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— Richard Isaacson, one of two principal owners of iwi Concrete Equipment Group in Commerce, Ga, received the Richard Isaacson Award, created by the National Precast Concrete Association Foundation (NPCAF) to honor an individual’s dedication and contributions to the organization.

The Richard Isaacson Award is designed to celebrate those who, through service, fundraising and leadership make the Foundation stronger and ensure its success.

Isaacson served on the NPCAF board from 2012-18, including two years as Chair. In leading the NPCAF Silent Auction, he helped raise more than half a million dollars to support programs that develop the industry’s future workforce.

“Richard’s passion, commitment, and leadership embody the very best of what it means to serve the Foundation,” said current NPCAF board chair

Greg Stratis. “Truly, we would not be where we are today without the dedication of volunteers like him. It is in his honor and with great gratitude that this award will carry his name.”

Isaacson’s work with the NPCAF also includes the development of the annual Student Design Competition, where college teams are given real-world projects and challenged with managing solutions.

“This is everybody who has come before me on the foundation. It’s the team,” Isaacson said. “I may have been driving the bus, but there were a lot of people on that bus, so I want to thank all of them, the ones who came before me, and all the people who are on the foundation board now. They are driving it way beyond what we even envisioned. So, I am truly humbled.”

This award was announced Saturday, Oct. 4, during the NPCA 60th Annual Convention in Grand Rapids, Mich.
