The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition is one of the many ways the NPCA Foundation partners with NPCA to advance the long-term generational health and viability of the precast concrete industry. The Foundation encourages all members to get involved in supporting Concrete Canoe teams.

Your participation helps build meaningful relationships with college students, increases awareness of precast in your region and advances the Foundation’s goal of expanding member engagement.

Concrete Canoe teams consistently need industry support, and there are several impactful ways you can contribute:

  • Join the EPIC Concrete Canoe Community. Introduce yourself, share how you can help or simply let teams know you’re available as a resource.
  • Offer professional guidance or mentorship. Students greatly benefit from real-world expertise and subject-matter insight.
  • Provide materials or technical resources. Teams would greatly appreciate donations of materials to build their canoe or technical guidance.
  • Support teams financially. Students who advance to the finals must transport their canoe and cover travel and lodging costs for competition week.
  • Attend regional competitions. Your presence alone means a great deal to the students – and it delivers value to NPCA, the Foundation, the industry and your company.

The Foundation is here to support you in any involvement you choose. Together, we can help cultivate the next generation of precast professionals.

To be connected directly with a team, email foundation@precast.org or ctrexler@precast.org to be connected.

If you chose to support a concrete canoe team or attend a regional competition, let us know. The Foundation would love to provide you with some branded swag. We also hope you share photos as well as details about the team and how you supported their efforts.

If you would like to join the Foundation Board of Directors at the Final event, June 25 to June 27, 2026, at Fairmont State University in West Virginia, contact Christina Trexler at ctrexler@precast.org.
