From medicine to retail to video games, augmented reality is making its way into more and more industries each year.
Now, AR is being leveraged in construction to give both builders and buyers a chance to envision a project before it is built.
Augmented reality brings computer-generated images into a user’s physical environment. Its use of real-world settings is what makes AR different from VR, which creates a world that is 100 percent virtual.
According to Digital Builder, AR already is being used for project presentations, progress reports and training across the construction industry. Mixing reality with computer-generated images allows people half a world away to tour a building as it is being constructed.
