The National Precast Concrete Association joined dozens of national transportation, construction, manufacturing and business organizations in urging congressional leaders to maintain fiscal year 2026 funding levels for federal surface transportation programs if a short-term continuing resolution or extension becomes necessary. In a letter sent to House and Senate leadership, the coalition emphasized the importance of preserving investments made through the Highway Trust Fund and advance appropriations to avoid disruptions to critical infrastructure projects.
The coalition noted that reducing transportation funding during a short-term extension would create uncertainty for state and local agencies, potentially delaying projects that improve public safety, strengthen the economy and support jobs across the country. The organizations encouraged Congress to address long-term funding decisions through the regular appropriations and surface transportation reauthorization process rather than temporary funding measures.
