RENO, Nevada – The National Precast Concrete Association presented Greg Roache, president of Gainey’s in Holden, Louisiana, with the 2026 Robert E. Yoakum Award during its 61st Annual Convention in Reno, Nevada. The award recognizes Roache’s longstanding leadership, technical expertise and commitment to advancing the precast concrete industry through education, innovation and service.
A scientist at heart, Roache began his career in chemistry before moving into the construction materials industry in 1979. After nearly two decades with FOSROC Inc. and four years with Master Builders Inc., he became president of Gainey’s in 2003. Under his leadership, Gainey’s has grown into a nationally respected precast concrete manufacturer recognized for its innovation, technical expertise and strong workplace culture. Throughout his career, Roache has emphasized that business success is measured not only by growth and profitability but also by the people and teams who make that success possible.

Roache’s contributions extend well beyond his company. He has served as chair of NPCA’s Education Committee, a member of the NPCA Board of Directors and the NPCA Foundation Board, and chief scientist on the National Microbial Induced Corrosion Taskforce. A passionate advocate for education and lifelong learning, he also regularly visits schools and colleges to introduce students to precast concrete and the career opportunities available in the industry. His willingness to share knowledge, mentor others and tackle complex technical challenges has made him a respected leader and valuable resource throughout the precast industry.
The Robert E. Yoakum Award, NPCA’s highest honor, is named after the association’s founding leader, who in 1965 played a key role in creating NPCA. The award is presented each year at the NPCA Annual Convention to an individual who has made significant, long-term contributions to furthering NPCA’s mission and advancing the precast concrete industry.
