Although using marijuana is still a crime under federal law, the trend toward legalization under state laws for either medicinal or recreational use is growing. Many states have passed laws legalizing the use of marijuana. As the number of states that allow the use of marijuana grows, potential problems for employers grow as well. How is marijuana use impacting safety on the job? How do you handle an employee that carries a medical marijuana card and works with machinery that has the potential for danger? Marijuana use is having an enormous impact, and employers need to protect themselves, their employees and their customers.
