There are many products we make in the precast industry that are fairly standard and are easily manufactured using our standard forms and blockouts. But from time to time, that order comes in for a not-so-typical structure. These special or custom projects require some additional analysis and planning that may involve using specialized formwork and manufacturing processes. This webinar will delve into this topic and, through the use of examples, demonstrate innovation and problem solving to deliver the product. We will discuss the use of other types of specialized formwork and blockouts that can be used. We will also look at necessary precautions during forming, pouring and stripping to ensure the product meets and exceeds the requirements. The ability to deliver on these custom structures can significantly expand the company’s market. This will be good information for those who are involved in these special projects or are still waiting for this inevitable first special request to occur.
At the conclusion of this webinar, you will be able to:
- Describe formwork options available in the industry for custom structures
- Relate ideas from examples of custom precast concrete structures
- Explain best practices and precautions when forming or pouring some elaborate custom structures
