The NPCA Foundation Student Competition is designed to raise student awareness of precast concrete and experience the real-world professional aspects of this business.
The competition provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with academic advisors or professors, interact with precast industry leaders who assist as team liaisons and compete in teams to solve a problem from actual NPCA member, using precast concrete as the solution.

REAL-WORLD BENEFITS
The competition project is a real-world project undertaken by an NPCA member. It presents problems that a company and its team work through to deliver the best solution and meet the needs of the customer.
There are a number of factors that a company needs to address and consider when bidding on a project and then executing and delivering the final product. These include production, delivery, budgeting, timelines, engineering, unexpected problems, last-minute changes from the customer and many others.
Students are highly encouraged to build multidisciplinary teams made up of students in engineering, CIM, architecture, construction management, project management or logistics.

THE DETAILS
The NPCA Foundation Student Competition is open to undergraduate students of two- and four-year
universities and colleges. The Application and Participant Agreement can be filled out in this form.
The first-place team wins $5,000 (divided equally among the student team members) and $5,000 for the school program. Second place wins $3,000 and $3,000 for the school. Third place wins $2,000 and $2,000 for the school.
The application period for the 2025 competition, with the finals at The Precast Show in Indianapolis, open. The Application and Participant Agreement for the 2025 competition can be filled out in this form.

New Jersey Institute of Technology scored the victory with their innovative design at The Precast Show in Denver. McNeese State was second, followed by Cal State-Chico.
The team from Cal State-Chico presented another winning design at The Precast Show in Columbus, Ohio.
