The NPCA Foundation provides grants to projects that address the evolving needs of the precast concrete industry. These projects should:
- Grow precast markets through education.
- Educate specifiers, owners and end users on emerging technologies and potential markets.
- Improve workforce development, quality control and safety.
- Expand education for architectural and engineering students.

GRANT RECIPIENTS
Grants from the NPCA Foundation have funded the creation of studios at five universities.
The universities are working in tandem to develop an comprehensive education program, utilizing a campus/online hybrid learning environment. Courses include precast concrete production management and design and construction of precast concrete.
The Engineering Design Studio is incorporated into the curriculum of the civil and environmental engineering department as a new technical elective. The studio, focused on transportation, includes a three-unit engineering class offered once every year during the fall.
The primary objective of the studio at McNeese State University is to raise awareness of precast as a primary building material. The objective of the studio is achieved through the immersion of students in real-life experiences and equal instructional time and effort on precast concrete.
The School of Engineering and Applied Technology at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has implemented three new required courses and three new elective courses that are integrated into the CIM program and School of Architecture.
