Course Description:
Producing high quality concrete product is an intricate process. There are so many important variables to address from the raw materials used, the mix design, the batching operations, the form set up and release agent application, the reinforcing details and placement, to casting the concrete in the form. All are important. One of the last activities a precaster needs to do for products having unformed surfaces is to finish it. If not done well, this final act before the curing process is started can ruin the surface and all the hard work and effort that has gone into this product.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the variables for proper concrete finishes.
- Discover the skill, technique and are necessary to finish concrete correctly.
- Identify different finishing methods, proper tools and surface finishes.
