Outreach Coordinator
Department: Technical Services and Professional Development
Reports to: Vice President of Technical Services and Professional Development
General Summary: This position provides daily management of NPCA’s Outreach Plan including: research, tracking, support, and follow up for tradeshows and external education including: academia, students, specifiers, contractors, NPCA Affiliates, and other end-users of precast concrete. Additionally, this position supports the certification/promotion, codes and standards, and marketing segments by providing data, reporting, tracking, and contributing to Working for You blogs and articles.
Essential Duties (include but not limited to):
Outreach Support
- Provide administrative management of daily Outreach Plan projects.
- Identify and recommend educational opportunities, including live presentations and webinars, for academia, students, specifiers, and end-users of precast concrete
- Creates and maintains database of contacts through academia, schools, specifying agencies, firms and other end users of precast concrete
- Research tradeshows as provided by supervisor and create comparative documents for costs, presentation opportunities, and sponsorship options for each tradeshow
- Serve as point of contact for external education audiences and tradeshows
- Manage selection, logistics and timeline of external presentations and tradeshows including materials, agenda, booth set up, food & beverage, and lead retrieval follow up.
- Manage student registrations for external presentations and webinars
- Conduct follow up after presentations and tradeshows to all attendees and forward leads to appropriate stakeholders, including maintain lists of attendees and managing follow up
- Responsible for input of budget projections in Outreach budget based on upcoming event expenses.
- Write blogs and outreach promotion articles for Communications to publish.
- Manage specifier webinar promotion plans in conjunction with Communications Department.
Operations/Administration
- Coordinate NPCA accreditation as an AIA approved provider and with individual states as PDH provider
- Work with NPCA Affiliates to provide information on NPCA external education presentations and webinars
- Track monthly metrics on education outreach
- Track all external education attendance and maintain records for continuing education credits
- Provide external course information to the Communications Department to promote NPCA education programs
- Manage day of webinar logistics for specifier webinars
- Manage printing and shipment of materials for external presentations and webinars, and tradeshows
- Manage compilation of external course evaluations
- Create and maintain database of contacts for academia, schools, and students including student and professor membership tracking
- Provide updated contacts for specifying agencies, firms, and end-users of precast concrete to Communications for inclusion in specifier database
- Track follow up to stakeholder groups
- Travel as required to NPCA conventions, conferences and education seminars.
- Track budget items for each event
- Other duties as assigned
Relationships: Strong working relationship with NPCA staff and management team; NPCA committees; all NPCA members, affiliates, instructors, specifiers, academia and students, and a variety of other industry-related and professional organizations as necessary. Keep supervisor informed of all important actions.
Minimum qualifications and requirements:
- 4-year college degree
- Strong organizational, people, and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking and presenting to groups of up to 50 persons
- Minimum of two years’ experience in administration and support of adult learning programming
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic understanding of database functions

Development Program Manager

NPCA Technical Resources Engineer (Civil, Structural or Mechanical)
Reports to: Vice President of Education and Workforce Development
General summary: Support National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) members and industry professionals by addressing technical issues, interpreting standards and specifications as well as the NPCA Quality Control (QC) Manual. Provide technical support, guidance and assist in coordinating the activities of product specific precast concrete committees. Represent the Association and precast industry at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences, and makes presentations to groups up to 250 people. Perform research and assist in writing technical articles Provide industry assistance developing national and international standards directly related to the manufacture and testing of precast concrete.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Proficiency in industry specifications, codes, standards and the latest reinforced precast concrete technology.
- Develop, manage and produce The Precast Concrete Technical Journal on a quarterly basis.
- Create and make education presentations to specifiers, students and producers.
- Respond to technical inquiries of members and industry professionals.
- Provide technical support to plants enrolled in the NPCA Plant Certification program.
- Conduct Plant Evaluations and write reports.
- Coordinate and support the technical activities of product specific committees as assigned.
- Provide support to the process of granting certification to plants by reviewing official audit reports generated by auditing agencies, under the guidance of the Director of Quality Assurance Programs in compliance with ANAB.
- Provide support to the process and sign off approval for granting certification to plants inspected and reports generated from NPCA auditor software for the NPCA Plant Certification program – When approved by the Senior Director of Technical Services in compliance with ANAB.
- Perform research and write technical articles and notes.
- Assist in the development of technical publications using primarily outside sources with in-house review and management.
- Represent the Association at trade shows and industry-wide technical committees (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, ICC, IAPMO, etc.).
- Member of the Outreach team; provide input and recommendations for outreach efforts related to tradeshows and education presentations.
- Up to 25 % travel can be expected.

- Produce all drawings required for submittals, production, fabrication, manuals, etc.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, written directions.
- Use measuring devices to determine dimensions.
- Put together submittals packets to send off to Contractors and Engineers.
- Make revisions to submittals based on reviews of Contractors, Engineers, or Supervisors.
- Answer phones.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Continually educates themselves on new and existing products to maintain effective knowledge.
- Provides direct customer communication when needed as it pertains to product use and application.
- Reviews existing products and customer specifications for up-to-date, cost-effective casting design. Works with other Engineering personnel on proposed design modifications. Submits revised designs for customer approval.
- Attends trade shows, meetings, expositions and conventions to make customer contacts which result in product sales.
- Maintains complete knowledge of EJ castings and water products, fabricated products and infra-risers, as well as EJ partner products produced by EJ in other regions.
- Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
