NPCA technical staff recently participated in the 2020 ACI Virtual Fall Convention from Oct. 26-29. In addition to attending several committee meetings, NPCA Director of Outreach and Technical Education Claude Goguen, P.E., LEED AP, organized and moderated a session on Oct. 27.
Goguen serves on ACI Committee E702 “Designing Concrete Structures,” a committee that develops educational programs and instructional materials within the area of design. The committee is responsible for developing and conducting convention sessions each year.
Goguen’s session, Current Resiliency Based Initiatives and Impacts on Concrete Design, explored topics related to designing resilient concrete structures, discussed potential threats along with the critical factors of resilient infrastructure, and looked at current resilience-based performance standards and resources.
The session was well received by the 115 designers, manufacturers, educators and specifiers who participated.
