While most attendees traveled back home after The Precast Show, Director of Outreach and Technical Education Claude Goguen, P.E., LEED AP, and Director of Workforce Development Alex Morales, M.Ed., continued to work for you in Texas.
Goguen and Morales traveled to Waco, Texas, after The Precast Show, to present and exhibit at the Texas Onsite Wastewater Association’s Annual Conference. From there, Goguen continued to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, to guest lecture for the concrete industry management program.
NPCA has participated in the TOWA annual conference for three consecutive years and has paired a visit to TSU each time as well.
The TOWA conference was attended by more than 700 onsite wastewater industry professionals. While there, Goguen offered two education sessions, and Morales manned the NPCA wastewater booth on the trade show floor.
Goguen first presented on the topic of troubleshooting tanks, alongside co-presenter and infiltrator representative Dennis Hallahan. The session was jam-packed with more than 200 TOWA conference-goers.
Goguen’s second presentation covered watertightness and installation of precast concrete tanks and attracted more than 150 attendees.
On March 11, Goguen guest lectured for Dr. Fred Aguayo’s Fundamentals of Concrete: Properties & Testing course. During his presentation, Goguen discussed the growth of the precast industry and the differences from ready mix concrete.
There were nearly 20 sophomore and junior level concrete industry management students in attendance.
