Update – 9/12/17
We are continuing to assess the impact of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma on NPCA members. NPCA members have reached out and asked how they can help affected member companies and their employees. If you are an NPCA member in one of the storm zones and have suggestions on how we can help or storm experiences to share, please complete this simple form and let us know. We will share the information with NPCA members and do what we can to help.
Update – 9/1/17
As we continue to assess the impact of Hurricane Harvey on NPCA member companies, we have created a form you can submit to let us know what we can do to help you and your team.
Additionally, Pat Liston, an NPCA Board member based at the Forterra Pipe & Precast plant in San Antonio, has volunteered to be our boots on the ground in Texas and Louisiana and is reaching out to all member companies that may have been in the path of the storm. You can contact Pat via email. You can also contact NPCA by phone at (800-366-7731) or via email.
We are happy to report that Pat has spoken with most members in the area and only one has experienced significant damage. A few reported that some employees have water problems. Some precasters are already open for business, while others are preparing to open next week. Members in the area expect sourcing sand and fly ash may be a problem. Pat suggests supporting the shelters in the area as they will be operating for some time while the water recedes, utility services are restored and homes are rebuilt.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Texas, the first responders assisting with the storm response and all families impacted by the storm in the Gulf region. We will be reaching out to NPCA member companies at the appropriate time to see how we can help, and we will follow up with their responses in future communications to the NPCA membership.
In the meantime, if you or your company would like to support the response and recovery efforts, it is recommended that you do so via the American Red Cross. Financial contributions can be made by clicking here and in-kind contributions can be offered by clicking here. You can also text “Harvey” to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross.
If you are an NPCA member impacted by the storm, please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help you and your team. The Texas Association of Business has established a resource center for business recovery to receive requests for assistance. Resources for businesses in the area are being coordinated by FEMA. Details are here and tools for individuals seeking assistance can be found here.
