NPCA professional staff members Eric Carleton, P.E., Kayla Hanson, P.E. and Claude Goguen, P.E., LEED AP, attended the ACI Spring 2017 Concrete Convention and Exposition in Detroit March 26-30. During the meeting, Claude and Eric attended ACI 130 – Sustainability of Concrete and Claude attended ACI 301 – Specifications for Structural Concrete. Claude is a committee member for both groups. The three sat in on various meetings covering durability, SCC, admixtures, nanotechnology of concrete, environmental engineering, fiber-reinforced concrete, field technician certification, pavements, aggregates and fly ash. They will apply the knowledge they gained to their work on behalf of NPCA members. During the meeting, they also learned ACI 201 – Durability is creating a task group on MIC. Claude will be applying to join that task group. Claude and Eric also obtained certificates for professional development hours to maintain their P.E. licenses.
