OSHA’s final rule updating its general industry Walking-Working Surfaces standards is now in effect. The rule addresses slips, trips and falls in the workplace and establishes requirements for the use of personal fall protection systems.
The rule also includes a new section under the general industry Personal Protective Equipment standards that establishes employer requirements using personal fall protection systems. The most significant update to the rule allows employers to choose the fall protection system that is best for them based on a variety of acceptable options.
Most of the rule is now in effect, but some employee training provisions have delayed effective dates. Download the documents below for details.
