Wondering what the latest and great precast projects are? Look no further than British Precast’s 2010 award winners, a collection of the best-of-the best projects from across the pond.
The Awards were created to showcase outstanding precast projects completed in the previous year, in which British Precast members supplied materials.
The 2010 winner, the Kimberley Commercial Centre in Bedfordshire, is a 63,500 square foot development that uses a number of products from Hanson UK to be on the leading edge of sustainable building practices. Other winners include a school with a precast frame constructed in just 35 days, precast flood protection for the market town of Tregaron, and the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery. The art gallery has already proven to be a new landmark for the city, and “demonstrates the versatility, flexibility and adaptability of precast concrete in all respects, particularly shapes, colors, sizes, textures and finishes.”
