Card Check Coalition
NPCA has joined a coalition of trade associations working to ensure that Congress does not get pressured into reviving the Employee Free Choice Act - legislation that would actually take away a worker's right to fill out a private ballot when deciding whether to join a union.
Also known as the "Card Check Bill," the EFCA passed the House by a 241-185 margin in 2007 but failed to pass the Senate. There is currently no activity on the bill, however several national unions have signaled that they intend to make the EFCA a campaign issue for candidates who want union support in the fall election.
