The National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) is increasing its pool of potential contract instructors for technical courses relating to basic concrete principles and precast concrete manufacturing. Instructors may be contracted to present or co-present technical coursework during The Precast Show or during standalone courses such as NPCA’s Production & Quality School (PQS).
If you are interested in becoming an instructor for NPCA or have a course topic suggestion, please contact Kathy Shelton, education programs manager. Submissions must include instructor biography, course description and learning objectives, and target audience.
Unlike courses in the above tracks, NPCA schools are multi-day commitments. NPCA Schools include Precast University courses:
PQS is currently NPCA’s baseline educational course offering. It is a two full-day course thoroughly covering the basic body of knowledge that all employees at a precast concrete plant are required to have. Current topics include:
The course concludes with a 60+ questions exam, which the students are required to pass in order to obtain a certificate of course completion.
The list of course titles instructors can be contracted to teach is endless. Consequently, candidates must include a complete list of course titles/topics they are interested in teaching. Ideal candidates will have work experience within the precast concrete (or related) industry, but consideration may also be given to university/college instructors, graduate students and others familiar with subject matter and with adult learning styles.
